Ranks
Overview
Section titled “Overview”Your rank reflects your military career in the galaxy: a 21-step ladder from Basic Space Pilot all the way up to Chief General. It is shown on your profile and on the leaderboards, together with your rank badge.
Your rank is driven by Rank Points (see Currencies). You don’t climb by reaching a fixed threshold — you climb by competing with other pilots: everyone is sorted by points, and the pilots at the top hold the highest ranks. Since the ladder is re-sorted every day, even keeping your rank takes activity.
All 21 ranks from lowest to highest — the badges are the same ones used in game; the small label shows how many pilots can hold that rank:
How Rank Points Are Earned
Section titled “How Rank Points Are Earned”Almost everything you do in the game contributes rank points. The sources and their contributions:
- The level contribution is permanent and cumulative: each new level adds its level number × 100 points. A pilot who has reached level 10, for example, carries a total of 5,500 points from levels alone.
- Dying and shooting friendly pilots (same faction) costs points; with heavy losses your total can even go negative.
- Enemies inside Raid gates and Nyx invasion enemies give no rank points — the reward for completing a gate is listed separately in the table.
- When the rank system was reworked, all kills up to that day were counted once: old PvP kills were worth 15 points each and old NPC kills 0.1.
- You can see your own point breakdown in game on the My Rank tab of your profile.
NPC kill points
Section titled “NPC kill points”The points per NPC kill depend on the type; Elite variants give 2× the base value and Commander variants 3× (exact values in each row’s label). See the NPCs page for the types themselves.
PvP kill points
Section titled “PvP kill points”Only downing a pilot from an enemy faction gives points, and the amount depends on the ship the victim was flying — hunting strong PvP ships is far more valuable. The Inferno, Sentinel and Crimson variants are worth the same as their base ship; the staff ship Valkyrie gives no points. See the Ships page.
How Ranks Are Assigned
Section titled “How Ranks Are Assigned”Ranks are recalculated every day at 00:00 UTC (at the same moment as the daily quest reset):
- To enter the ranking you must have reached level 2 and your account must be at least 1 day old (staff accounts are excluded).
- All eligible pilots are sorted by rank points from highest to lowest.
- Ranks are handed out from the top down: the top 1 pilot becomes Chief General, the next 2 pilots General, the next 3 Basic General, the next 5 Chief Colonel and the next 20 Colonel. The remaining ranks are assigned by percentile slices of the ranking; everyone who doesn’t fall into any slice is a Basic Space Pilot.
Note: Values may change over time with game balancing; the numbers on this page are those of the latest data update.
